Our story

We would love to share our story that brought us here to this moment. Over the past decade, our lives have intertwined in ways we never anticipated. We first met when our boys became friends in grade 1. In 2015, I, Kate was the manager of a soccer team and needed a coach, when I asked Nick to coach and agreed. From the sidelines, amidst the cheers and strategies, a bond of mutual respect and support quietly took root between us.

It's remarkable, looking back, how seamlessly we worked together. There was an unspoken understanding, an effortless harmony that marked our interactions. We were a team within the team, united by our shared dedication and the belief that together, there was nothing we couldn't overcome.

Then, everything changed on February 7, 2020, with a simple yet profoundly impactful message: "Are you ok?" That evening, as Nick posted a candid moment on Facebook—a glass of whisky and a note hinting at a tumultuous day—something shifted. For me, Kate, Nick's post wasn't just another social media update; it was a glimpse into his world, a rare vulnerable moment that touched me deeply.

Nick's move to his own place had puzzled me. The reasons behind it were unclear, but that message on that particular day stirred something within him. It was a ray of light in almost total darkness, a lifeline, a small act of concern that would eventually bloom into something much more significant.

As we began to carve out more time together, exploring each other's thoughts and dreams, it felt surreal. What started as a solid friendship—one characterized by professionalism and shared goals—slowly unfurled into a tapestry of deeper emotions. There was a tenderness in our interactions, a gentleness that spoke volumes.

Navigating this transition was like decoding a beautiful mystery. Amidst the noise of external opinions and societal expectations, our hearts whispered a truth that grew louder with each passing day. It was a dance of emotions, a delicate balance between friendship and love that neither of us had expected but both were embracing wholeheartedly.

Where will the wedding ceremony and reception be held?

  • The ceremony will be held on the beach, the reception will be right after most likely in the buffet.

What is the dress code?

  • The dress code is beach formal. Interpret this as comfortably elegant beach attire.

How many nights do I have to book?

  • We are arriving on August 3, 2025 and leaving on August 10, 2025.  
  • You can arrive and leave on different dates as long as your stay is a minimum of 3 nights.

How can I RSVP and by when?

  • Your booking will be considered RSVP, December 12, 2024 is when deposit is due.

Can I bring a friend or relative who is not on the guest list?

  • Absolutely! It’s not just our wedding, but also your vacation. If we’re unfamiliar with them, we may reach out to confirm a few details.

Are children welcome at the wedding?

  • Yes, children are welcome! There is kid’s club and kid’s pool in the resort.

Is airfare included?

  • No, please book your flights separately. It only could have been possible if all our quests were coming from Victoria.

How do we get from the airport to the hotel?

  • Transportation is not included but we would like to arrange that for you. Once you book your flights please come back here and provide flights details under Book My Ride.

Is there a gift registry?

  • No, your presence is a gift in itself.

Are there any planned group activities?

  • There are no formal group activities planned, but we may organize a friendly parents vs. kids soccer game, so bring your sneakers!
  • Also, Grand Palladium Vallarta Resort offers a variety of activities such as:
  • Water Sports: Including surfing, snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding.
  • Land Sports: Such as tennis, beach volleyball, and soccer.
  • Fitness Activities: Yoga classes, aqua aerobics, and gym facilities.
  • Entertainment: Evening shows, live music, and themed parties. 
  • Excursions: Organized tours to nearby attractions like Sayulita, Puerto Vallarta, or jungle adventures.

What is the refund policy if I can’t attend after booking and paying?

  • Book your stay today with a $150 deposit due by December 8, 2024, and the final payment due by May 8, 2025. Both payments are non-refundable. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance, which will be offered at the time of booking or might be available through your credit card.
